This was an interesting movie to say the least. It wasn’t quite what I expected. I guess I had expected a thriller type movie, but the black comedy was a nice surprise. The disturbing thing about this movie is that it’s probably accurate.
The story is a cynical take on what would happen if a planet killer object were to be discovered on a collision course with the earth. The fact that we’re actually living a scenario with COVID backs up the ideas in the plot. There are people who don’t think it’s a problem. The solution is sabotaged by the wealthy looking to make a buck and only the rich and powerful survive.
The casting was amazing; it’s always nice to see Timothee Chalamet in a film. In this one, he played a skater dude. Leonardo DiCaprio played a good role as did Jennifer Lawrence. Meryl Streep did a wonderful job playing the part of the President. This film had a blockbuster cast for a film of this nature. I’m sure they all had a lot of fun making it.
