Beer: Vanilla Porter

One of my longtime favorite porters is from Breckenridge Brewery. I’m a big fan of anything vanilla so when I saw this for the first time, I had to give it a try.

This brew is very rich and has all the characteristics of a great ported. Smoky, chocolatey, pecans, and, of course, vanilla. The nose is hoppy and beery like a good porter should be. The taste is spot on and the tail is where the vanilla comes in.

Vanilla is a delicate flavor that is easily overpowered, but to have it on the tail of a great beer is an amazing experience. I can’t recommend this one enough.

From the brewery:

Aromas of vanilla and toasted grain set the stage for mellow flavors of vanilla and dark roasted malts in this popular porter. Don’t let its deep mahogany color fool you, this brew is packed with flavor, yet as smooth as they come.
